Audits aren't ideal, but they do happen, and when they do, your adviser must be ready to take them on for you. During an audit, in the know you should leave all IRS communication to your adviser and feel confident in doing so. In fact, ask to see examples of how they have handled audits in the past to get a feel for how they work. Rather than educating you to make the best decisions, many advisers avoid teaching their clients the law because they believe that if they do, you won't need their service anymore. A great adviser knows there are business and investment decisions that can and will impact your tax burden. More knowledge to make smart decisions means a decrease in your taxes, a more successful business, and, in the end, more work for your adviser. 4.https://www.inc.com/inc-masters/4-non-negotiable-qualities-in-your-tax-advisor.html
By Nick Mordowanec | email@example.com | The Oakland Press The Village of Holly, Independence Township, Rochester and White Lake Township are four of 30 Michigan water systems receiving funding from the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy. Approximately $368,000 in funding, from $2,000 to $70,000, will go towards helping protect clean water sources while simultaneously educating the public about where their water originates and how to maintain its cleanliness. White Lake Township received $13,524; Rochester $12,877; the Village of Holly $8,991; and Independence Township $4,390. Programs benefiting this year include updated plans to 10 wellhead protection areas , as well as educating the public about water sources and developing surface water intake programs. Applicants must provide 50% fund matches and develop a water protection team that demonstrates a long-term commitment to source water protection programs. Grant announcements coincided with the first ever Source Water Protection Week as declared by the American Water Works Association. “EGLE is on the job every day working with Michigan’s 1,350 community water systems to deliver safe water to residents,” said Sara Pearson, source water unit supervisor with EGLE’s Drinking Water and Environmental Health Division, in a statement. “But the first and most crucial step in the process is to ensure that the lakes, rivers or groundwater wells that deliver that water are free of contaminants. These grants will help communities keep those water sources safe and reliable.” For more information visit EGLE’s Source Water Assessment page .https://www.theoaklandpress.com/2021/11/08/four-county-communities-receive-egle-grants-towards-clean-water-protection/

Photograph: Norwegian Handball Federation Last modified on Mon 1 Nov 2021 01.58 EDT The International Handball Federation has responded to widespread accusations of sexism by changing its rules around women’s uniforms to allow bike shorts and tank tops instead of bikini bottoms and crop tops. The sport’s global governing body has been the subject of international pressure since July, when the European Handball Federation made headlines for imposing a €1,500 fine on the Norwegian women’s beach handball team for wearing shorts like their male counterparts during the Euro 21 tournament in Bulgaria. At the time, the EHF described the shorts as “improper clothing”. At some point over the past month the IHF has quietly altered its regulations for beach handball , which now stipulate that “female athletes must wear short tight pants with a close fit”. Male athletes can still wear regular shorts as long as 10cm above the knee “if not too baggy”. It follows a campaign by Norway-based Australian activist Talitha Stone, whose petition – supported by gender equality organisation Collective Shout – attracted 61,000 signatures. “I hope this is the beginning of the end of sexism and objectification of women and girls in sport,” said Stone, who led Collective Shout’s 2012 campaign against the Lingerie Football League . “And that in future all women and girls will be free to participate in sport without fear of wardrobe malfunctions and sexual harassment.” Comparison of the former women’s beach handball uniform (left) and the current one. The country’s minister for culture and sport, Abid Raja, described the ruling as being “completely ridiculous” and women’s sports associations across Europe also called for the resignation of the presidents of both the IHF and the EHF.https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2021/nov/01/handball-federation-changes-uniform-rules-after-pressure-over-sexist-bikini-rule
